About Ben

Ben is a third generation commercial cattle grazier in the Dalrymple Shire area.

On completing his secondary schooling, he went home to the family cattle properties where he spent the next forty-three years.

During this time he spent thirty years on two municipal councils, Dalrymple Shire and Charters Towers Regional Council. He was the last Mayor of Dalrymple Shire and the first Mayor of Charters Towers Regional Council following amalgamation in 2008.

After being deposed from office at the 2012 local government elections Ben decided to look for work instead of returning to the family grazing business now being managed by his son.

Ben started work with Stocklick Trading in Charters Towers as Sales Representative, covering the North West region of Queensland in August 2012.

About Amy

Amy grew up on her family’s sheep & cattle property 26km north of Longreach in Western Queensland & has been involved with livestock & the running of the property her entire life. After school Amy attended a Grazing for Profit course run by RCS, obtaining a Diploma of Agriculture & a Diploma of Rural Business Management. In 2007 Amy began a Bachelor of Science at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, however she was more interested in an agricultural-based degree so changed to a Bachelor of Applied Science at UQ’s Gatton campus which she completed in 2011. From 2012 to 2014 Amy worked for Stocklick in Roma as the SW QLD Sales Rep then headed to America/Canada for a 12-month working holiday.

Upon returning to Australia, Amy did a two-month stint helping Stocklick in the busy season then returned home to Longreach to assist with the drought. Over the last couple of years Amy has been working both at home & doing contract stockwork, fencing etc for other local graziers, as well as becoming involved in collecting & objectively measuring wool traits for local producers who want to utilise hard data for classing to improve production. Amy has been eager to get back into the nutrition field to supplement her agricultural lifestyle so jumped at the opportunity to rejoin Stocklick as their Central West Sales Representative/Nutritionist. Amy will be based at Longreach & services Central & Western QLD. Please contact Amy for all your stock feed needs!
